Lots of pots were fired this week. Check 'em out:
I'm excited with how they came out. I feel that I am working my concentration and getting somewhere with it.
The first and third pots are have a similar explanation. There are meant to show the structure of society and how it enhances the individual.
So, in the first pot with all the loops, there is an easy-going pattern that shows contingency. Through the connected loopy line, there is a bigger picture at work. Although society has structure, shown through the form, the individuals of the world continue in an simple, flexible nature.
The third pot has the same idea going on, except instead of a looping, easy-going pattern, the connected line creates boxes. Individuals box themselves in, create customs, stereotypes, and labels that ultimately close them off to higher thinking. There is a set pattern for doing things, and this mental set continues around and around and around through time.
The second pot illustrates that individuals would be a straight up mess without the structure of society, in fact, we are corrupt even within it. We need rules, customs, and labels to help us make decsions and live a good life.
The last pot is honestly just a spontaneous experiment with glaze. I literally flung so much glaze and underglaze on it to see what would happen and how they'd react. Ha, maybe that's what God does sometimes--just flings stuff on the world, just to see what will happen, how people will react.
